EDMOND, OK - The Jets took to the road once again on Thursday, taking on the #25 team in the country, Central Oklahoma.
The Jets went toe to toe with the Bronchos in the first set, including taking the lead several times over the course of the set. However, the Jets were never able to get more than two points ahead.
In the middle of the set, UCO broke away and the Jets were unable to recover. The Bronchos went on a 5-0 run after the Jets had cut down the lead to just three, but was unable to recover, as the Bronchos took the first set 25-17.
The second set was all Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos led almost the entire set from start to finish, minus a 1-1 tie at the start of the set, leading them to a 25-11 set win.
The third set was almost a mirror image of the first, as the Jets struggled to get much offense going.
The loss puts the Jets at 0-9 and still looking for their first victory of the season.
After about a week off, Newman will once again head on the road next Friday and Saturday to take on Missouri Western and #18 Northwest Missouri State. The Jets will finally be at home starting on September 28th, hosting #7 Nebraska-Kearney. at 6 PM.
