NEWTON, KS - Men and Women's Cross Country competed at the Thrasher Invitational hosted by Bethel College, with both teams having their most impressive performances in a season that has already seen several records broken.
Patricia Limo was the headliner for the women's team, winning first overall at the meet. It was the first time that a Jet had won a race for the Women's Cross Country team, finishing with a time of 18 minutes and 36 seconds.
Lucy Brown finished in third place and Nayelle Rosales finished in fifth. The Women finished in second overall, with Rosales and
Anna Corbett having their best personal times.
The Men finished in first overall, with
Reagan Longei breaking yet another record. Running 25 minutes and 4 seconds, it was the third consecutive race that Longei had broken a school record for the men's cross country team.
Asher Brown and
Kevin Chemalmal also finished in the top five.
Freshman
Jake Beauchamp and Austin Fulerton finished in the top 10 as well.
Both teams will head to the Old Glory Gallup in Dallas on October 7th, which will be the final races of the regular season before heading to the MIAA Championships in Columbia, Missouri on October 20th.
