Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer rebounds with 3-0 win at Harding

The Jets win second game of the season with three different goal scorers

SEARCY, AR - Men's Soccer got their season back on track, drubbing Harding 3-0 on Thursday night, with all three goals coming in the first half and coming from three different goal scorers.

The Jets had been defeated in a heavy loss at home against #13 Rogers State last weekend, and were looking for a second win of the season, which would put them over the mark for total wins last campaign.

Carlos Bellosta Manchon continued his spectacular season, scoring his sixth goal of the season. Alberto Romano and Felix Tellez Ramirez both were credited with assists, and it would not be the last time their names were called in the match.

Ramirez scored the second goal of the game, converting a penalty in the 33rd minute to give the Jets a 2-0 lead, which was the largest lead the Jets have had in a game this season to that point.

Alberto Romano continued his strong form, scoring his second goal in as many matches. Mario De Rouqe once again provided the assist for Romano, having assisted his goal last Saturday against Rogers State.

The Bison would also be sent down to ten men in the second half, after Georgios Petousis recieved a straight red card.

Juan Carlos Cordova kept his first clean sheet of the season, making three saves along the way.

The win was the second for Newman this season, surpassing last year's mark of one. It was the most wins the Jets have had in a season since the 2021 spring season, and the programs largest win since October 2021, where they defeated Ouchita Baptist 5-0.

The Jets will take on Ouchita Baptist on Saturday morning at 11 AM, before returning home to face Northeastern State next Thursday.
