ARKADELPHIA, AR - The Jets and the Ouchita Baptist Tigers played to a thrilling 4-4 draw on Saturday morning, with
Carlos Bellosta Manchon scoring his second hat trick of the season.
The Jets were coming off their biggest win of the season, with a 3-0 thumping of Harding on Thursday.
The duo of
Mario De Roque and
Alberto Romano combined for a third goal in as many matches, with De Roque scoring his first goal of the season for the center of the box. Romano had scored off two assists from De Roque against Rogers State and Harding, and returned the favor providing an assist to De Roque.
The Tigers responded with a quick attack, scoring the equalizer in less than a minute after the Jets had first taken the lead.
Just three minutes later, Bellosta Manchon scored his first goal of the match to put the Jets up by one. The game would remain at 2-1 going into halftime, but the drama was about to pick up.
The Tigers scored two goals to put Ouchita up 3-2, but the Jets still had time to respond.
Bellosta Manchon turned in a header from Cameron Schroder to level the game at 3-3, but the thriller wasn't over just yet.
A mere seconds after the leveler, the Tigers scored from a set piece to once again take the lead at 4-3.
In one of the most dramatic moments of the season, Bellosta Manchon scored his third goal of the match with only 33 second left to secure a late Jets draw.
The Jets move to 2-4-3 with the draw, and will retrun home for two matches in the next two weeks, hosting Northeastern State next Thursday and Fort Hays State the following Tuesday.
