Last Time Out 

Latik Murphy had himself one heck of an afternoon against Washburn, as he scored six threes against the Ichabods. Stevie Strong also had another game of 20 plus points in another strong outing. Strong has scored in double digits in almost every game this season. 

Despite the strong shooting and having the lead for a majority of the game, the Ichabods pushed away late and stole a victory the Jets thought they would have. 

The lead changed nine times in the contest, mostly occurring in the second half. 

With the loss, the Jets moved to 3-5 in the MIAA.

Scouting the Squadron 

With his third straight game of scoring 20 or more points, Stevie Strong leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.3 points a game. He is 7th overall in the MIAA in the scoring leaders standings and is shooting a league high 45.7% from three. 

With a 3-5 MIAA record, the Jets have fallen to 11th place in the standings, which is the lowest the team has been this season. They have an opportunity to pick up two wins against a a Hillcats team just above them and a RiverHawks team at the bottom of the standings. 

 

Behind Enemy Lines 

 

This will be Rogers State's third trip to Wichita already this season, having taken on Wichita State in an exhibition and competing in the MIAA/NSIC crossover challenge hosted by the Jets to start their season. The Hillcats did not win any of their three contests in Wichita. 

Rodney Battle is the top threat going forward for the Hillcats, averaging 14.5 points a game. 

The RiverHawks are winless in conference playing, losing their first seven games in the MIAA. Despite starting 4-1, NSU has only won a single game since then. 

 

The Series 

Newman is 5-16 all time against Rogers State, and is currently on a nine game losing streak against the Hillcats. The last win over Rogers State came in February of 2019. 

The Jets are 4-6 all time against NSU, with the two teams each winning against each other on their home courts.

Newman will head to Missouri for two games, taking on Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State.
