Arkadelphia, Ark. -Newman faced the Ouachita Baptist Tigers in their second Arkansas game this week. After dominating Harding in the first half of Thursday's game, the Jets were confident they could come back home with the three points against the Tigers. Ouachita was coming off of a 1-3 loss to Fort Hays in Thursday's match and were looking to claim their first conference win of the year. The match ended 1-0, giving the Tigers their first GAC win of the season.
How It Happened:
- Newman started the game with multiple offensive efforts. Gael Gonzalez attempted two shots that barely missed the Tigers goal. Felipe Calderaro also added two shots that went over the goal.
- Gabriel Dias Juliani recorded the first shot on goal for the Jets in the 17th minute with a centered shot that the keeper was able to stop.
- In the 24th minute, Ouachita scored the one and only goal in the match. Alexis Murillo was able to get through Guilherme Borges to score his fifth goal of the season.
- Paulo Villalobos tried to tie the game before the half with two shots on goal that were saved by Ouachita's goal keeper.
- The Jets had ten shots in the second half, but it wasn't enough to score. The Tigers showed a great defensive effort and were able to maintain a clean sheet to earn their first GAC win.

Men's Soccer moves to 6-5, 3-2 and will be back on the road next Thursday in a match against Fort Hays State.
