WICHITA- The Jets matched up against Ouachita Baptist for the second time this season. The first match up went to the Tigers at 1-0. This time out, the Jets defeated the Tigers 4-1.
How it Happened:
-For the majority of the first half the Jets held possession in their attacking third. However, the Tigers struck first. A missed touch by the Jets goalkeeper allowed the Tigers, Joao Goncalves to put the ball in the back of the net off the missed touch and put the Tigers up 1-0 in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute,
Alberto Romano had a chance to even out the score with a shot on goal but the Tigers goalkeeper was able to make the save to keep the game at 1-0. Romano had another chance to find the back of the net but his long shot missed just high. Minutes later, Romano received the ball in the box and put too much power on it and missed the frame. In the 30th minute a nice cross from the Jets to
Gustavo Dias Juliani had a chance that just missed to the side of the goal. Only a few minutes later, another cross set up
Mario De Roque Zazon but he couldn't connect with the back of the net. With eight minutes left in the half the Jets were fouled in the box which awarded them a penalty kick. Romano stepped up for the Jets penalty kick and connected with the bottom right corner to tie the game at 1-1. With 2 minutes left in the half, the game was paused due to weather. After the weather delay, the Jets and Tigers held at 1-1. In the first half, Newman out shot the Tigers 10-2 with three shots on goal.
- The second half, the Jets came out with energy scoring in the first three minutes of play. A double assisted ball found
Gael Gonzalez to head the ball into the back of the net. Newman took the lead 2-1. In the 56th minute, the Tigers had a chance on goal but a diving save by
Guilherme Borges kept Ouachita Baptist at only one goal.
Gabriel Dias Juliani had a good look on goal from outside the box with 20 minutes left to play, but the ball sailed into the Tiger goalie's hands. In the 73rd minute the Jets were awarded their second penalty kick of the night. Romano stepped up to the spot and nailed the penalty kick to extend the Jets lead to 3-1 which gave Romano two goals. Romano hit his third goal of the night in the 82nd minute to secure himself a hat trick on the night. Ouachita Baptist had no answer for the dominant Jets offense. The Jets took the match, 4-1. In the second half, the Jets out shot the Tigers 12-1. Newman tallied a total of 22 shots with 11 on target.

- Romano tallied three goals on the night which broke the Jets record for most goals in a season. Romano has a total of 11 goals this season.
- Gonzalez records his first goal of the season.
