PARK CITY, Kan.- The Jets opened their 24-25 season at the Falcon Open, hosted by Friends University. Two Jets placed in the tournament. In the Open Elite, Caleb Wunsch (285) placed 3rd. In the Open Amateur, Bryce Kegley (149) took first place.
Falcon Open Elite Results:
Trent Moses (141):
- In Championship round one, Moses fell against Drew Woodley of Grandview by technical fall. This pushed Moses to the consolation round one where he received a bye in the first round. In the second round, Moses drew Tyler Deen of Missouri Baptist. Deen was able to take the win by major decision.
Colby Schreiner (149):
- In Championship round one, Schreiner received a bye. In the second round, Schreiner defeated his opponent by decision. In the quarterfinal, Schreiner fell short to Alex Pena of Wayland Baptist. This quarterfinal loss pushed Schreiner to round four of the consolation bracket where he lost to Ryan Anderson by sudden victory.
Hunter Dietrich (157):
- In Championship round one, Dietrich received a bye. In the second round, his opponent Josey Jernegan took the match by decision. This loss moved Dietrich to the consolation round where he won by fall over Chase Koehler of Fort Hays State. In the third round of consolation, Dietrich won by fall Central Oklahoma's Jose Flores. Dietrich won in the fourth round of consolation by fall over Caden Eggleston (Morningside Iowa). Dietrich was unable to win in the fifth round of consolation. He ended his day with a loss by fall against Ben Miller (Doane University).
Caleb Wunsch (285): 3rd Place
- Wunsch received a first round bye. In the second round, Wunsch won by technical fall against Paul Sharp of Central Oklahoma. In the quarterfinals, Wunsch won by decision over Jacob Jerabek (Morningside Iowa) at 5-0. In the semi final, Wunsch lost by decision (7-2) to Alton Allen (Briar Cliff (Iowa)). This loss pushed Wunsch to the consolation semifinals where he was able to secure the win by fall over Paul Sharp (Central Oklahoma). In the third place match, Wunsch won by fall over Cole Mair (Grandview).
De'Leon Freeman (285):
- Freeman received a bye in the first round. In the second round, he lost by fall against Emmett Bivens of Wayland Baptist. This loss moved him to the consolation round where he lost by decision against Gavin Howes of Avila.

Jaxson Newcomb (133):
- Newcomb received a bye in round one. In round two he won by technical fall against Joseph Galvan from Wayland Baptist. In round three, Newcomb lost by fall against Christian Ahren of Morningside (Iowa). In the consolation round four, Newcomb won by technical fall against Grant Browning of Hastings. In the fifth round of consolation, Newcomb won by fall over Tacoma Augustine of Fort Hays State. Newcomb continued his success in the 6th round after winning over Keton Patterson by fall. In the 7th round of consolation, Newcomb lost to Cam Kiser of Cowley College by fall.
Keton Patterson (133):
- Patterson received a first round bye. In the second round, Patterson won by fall. In the third round, Patterson won by major decision over Doane University opponent. In the Quarterfinal, Patterson took on Tucker Collinsworth where he lost by decision. This loss moved Patterson to the consolation bracket. In the 6th round of the consolation bracket, Patterson was put up against Newcomb, fellow Newman teammate, and lost by fall.
Kaven Bartlett (141):
- Bartlett received a bye in the first round. In the second round, Bartlett lost by major decision. In the consolation round two, Bartlett received a bye which allowed him to move onto the third round where he won by fall against Oklahoma City opponent. In the fourth round of consolation, Bartlett added another win by fall over against Fort Hays State. In the fifth round of consolation, Bartlett won after his opponent forfeited. In the 6th round of consolation, Bartlett lost to Marcus Terry (Labette CC) by decision (5-0).
Bryce Kegley (149): 1st Place
- Kegley started his day with a first round bye. In the second round, he won by fall over Oklahoma City opponent. In the third round, Kegley won by major decision over Brock Roberts of Cowley College. Kegley won by fall over Damon Ingram (unattached) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal, Kegley took the win by fall over Wesley Madden (unattached) to punch his ticket to the final. Kegley won by fall over Ben Smith to take first place in the 149 lb weight class in the Falcon Open Amateur.
Dane Donigian (174):
- In the championship round one, Donigian received a bye. In the second round, Donigian lost by decision to Embry-Riddle opponent (2-1). In the consolation round, Donigian lost to Texas Wesleyan opponent by technical fall.
Erik Tomanek (197):
- In championship round one, Tomanek won by technical fall over York opponent. In round two, Tomanek lost by decision. In the consolation round two, Tomanek won by decision (10-6). In the third round of consolation, Tomanek won by decision against Caled Dickerson of Jarvis Chrisitan. In the fourth round of consolation, Tomanek won by major decision over Braeden Stotts (Missouri Baptist). In the 5th round of consolation, Tomanek ended his day with a loss by fall against Labette Community College.
Rio Gomez (285):
- In the championship first round, he won by fall over Landen Brinkley of Carl Albert State. In the championship round two, Marcel Gonzalez won in sudden victory over Gomez, which then pushed Gomez to the consolation bracket where he lost to Amad Soufi of Missouri Baptist University.
