RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Jets finished up play in Arkasnas against the Wonder Boys of Arkansas Tech.
How it Happened:
-The Jets came out battling the No. 24 ranked Wonder Boys. Arkansas Tech started the game with a 9-0 run until
Isaiah Elmore connected with a free throw. After Elmore's free throw, the Jets put on a run to close the game to 11-9 still in favor of the Wonder Boys. A
Sam Medalie jumper cut the Wonder Boys lead to just two at 15-13 with 12 minutes left to play. With 9:12 to play,
Boston Stanton III earned a trip to the free throw line and drained both shots to tie the game at 19 a piece. After the free throws from Stanton, the Wonder Boys went on a run that retook the lead at 34-19. The Jets hit a few three to get their offense going again, but the Wonder Boys weren't budging. The Jets scored five points to end the half down, 34-51.
-The Wonder Boys came out aggressive in the second half, making the first seven points to extend their lead to 58-34. The Jets were able to go on a run with 13 minutes left to play. A
Jordan Glenn-Hawkins layup, followed by free throws by
Trae Clayton, and a three by Glenn-Hawkins cut the deficit back to 20. The Jets were able to make a six point run with another pair of free throws by Clayton and a
Devin Walker three to make it a 68-50 game with nine left to play. The Jets continued to make small runs in efforts to cut the deficit, but could never get within reach. The Jets fell to the No. 24 ranked Wonder Boys, 95-64.
