INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- Wrestling traveled to Indiana to compete in the 45th Midwest Classic. Last time out, three Jets placed, with Wunsch and Foust placing second and Moses taking 6th place.
Dylan Sheler (125)
Sheler received a bye in the first round. In the second round, Sheler lost to Joshua Jasionowicz of East Stroudsburg by fall (3:33). This pushed him to round two of the consolation bracket where Sheler received a bye. In the third round of consolation, Sheler won by decision over Christian Luker of Mount Olive at 5-3. Sheler ended his tournament in round four of consolation, with a loss by technical fall (1.5 4:20 (17-2)) to Trevon Gray of Pitt-Johnstown.
Jevin Foust (133)
Foust won in sudden victory (13-10) over his first round opponent. In the second round, Foust won by decision over James Davis of Chadron State at 20-19. Then, in the third round, Christian Davis of Lander won by decision over Foust at 9-3. Foust ended his tournament run in round four of consolation where he lost by major decision (11-0) to Trebor Moreno of Colorado School of Mines.
Trent Moses (141)
In the first round, Moses received a bye. In the second round, Moses lost by fall (0:28) to Isham Peace of Lander. This pushed Moses into round two of consolation where he received a bye. Then in the third round of consolation, Moses lost by fall (2:56) to Hudson Hackbarth of Maryville.
Colby Schreiner (149)
Schreiner received a first round bye. In the second round, Schreiner lost by technical fall at 22-4 to Dean Noble of Western Colorado. In round two of consolation, Schreiner won by fall (4:53) over Brady Willman of Wheeling. Then in the third round of consolation, Schreiner won by decision (6-4) over Egidio DiFazio of Lake Erie. In the fourth round, Schreiner lost by decision (14-7) to Brandon Seawright of Limestone.
Hunter Dietrich (157)
Dietrich lost in the first round by fall (3:00) to Central Oklahoma opponent, Gabe Johnson. This pushed him to the first round of consolation where he received a bye. Then in the second round of consolation, Dietrich lost to Luke Robards of Indianapolis by major decision (12-3).
Jace Fisher (165)
Fisher won his first match of the day by major decision at 11-0. Then in the second round, Fisher won by fall (1:51) over Marc Kleyman of East Stroudsburg). In the third round, Fisher won by decision over Nicholas Coreno of Gannon at 5-1. In the quarterfinal, Fisher lost to David Hunsberger of Lander by decision (14-7). This pushed Fisher to round six of consolation, where he lost by decision (8-6) to Will Kuster of Drury.
Chris Mapp (174)
Mapp received a first round bye. In the second round, Mapp lost by fall (1:49) to Mason Fey of Northern State. Then in the second round of consolation, Mapp received a bye. In the third round of consolation, Mapp lost by major decision (14-1) to Jared Shafer of Minot State.
Dane Donigian (184)
Donigian lost his first round match by technical fall (1.5 6:23 (19-3)) to Ethan Lopez of King. Then he received a bye in the first round of consolation. In the second round of consolation, Donigian lost by fall (2:56) to Sergio Zaragoza of Adams State.
Erik Tomanek (197)
In the first round, Tomanek received a bye. Then in the second round, Tomanek lost by fall (6:08) to Tereus Henry of Fort Hays State. In the second round of consolation, Tomanek received a bye. Then in the third round of consolation, Tomanek lost by fall (3:59) to Brooks Schrimsher of Ouachita Baptist.
Caleb Wunsch (285)
Wunsch received a bye for his first match of the day. Then in the second round, Wunsch won by fall (4:43) over Cody Pinkerton of Chadron State. In round three, Wunsch lost by decision at 4-1. This pushed Wunsch to round four of consolation where he won by fall (0:10). In the fifth round of consolation, Wunsch won by fall (3:19) to push himself into the sixth round of consolation. In the sixth round, Wunsch ended his tournament run with a loss by decision (5-2) against Tyler Doyle of Colorado Mesa.
