Games 33-35
vs. Central Missouri 26-4 (14-2 MIAA) – 3 Games
Thursday, March 28 – Saturday, March 30 | McCarthy Field | Wichita, KS

Schedule Update
The Jets midweek game with Fort Hays State has been moved to Wednesday due to inclement weather conditions in western Kansas.

Home for the Holidays (Easter edition)
Jets Baseball returns to home for the first time in over two weeks, hosting the Central Missouri Mules over the Easter weekend.

Special Start Time
The three-game series will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday in observance of Easter Sunday.

Last Time Out
The Jets picked up their first MIAA series win last Saturday, defeating Missouri Western in a dominant performance in a ten-run win.

The teams had split the first two games, with both contests being decided by just one run. Newman won the first day, 6-5, while the Griffons leveled the series up with a 8-7 win on Friday.

The Jets scored four runs in the fifth without any outs, and took one of their biggest leads of the weekend against the Griffons.

Connor Owens, who had made his first career start on Thursday for the Jets, had one of the biggest weekends out of anyone on the roster. On Friday, Owens had two RBIs. He would follow this performance with a three RBI day in the series finale.

The Griffons were unable to keep up with the high level of offense and defense that the Jets were putting up, as pitcher Colby Wilson allowed just one earned run in eight innings of work.

The 11-1 win was Newman's biggest win on the road this season.
Box Score

At The Plate
Making his season debut just last Thursday, Connor Owens had the biggest weekend out of anyone on the team. Although not getting any hits in the first game of the series, he put together some impressive performances in the next two games.

He would finish the weekend with five RBIs, including three in the series finale.

The Enemy Dugout
At time of writing, the Central Missouri Mules are ranked second in the land of Division II baseball with a 26-4 record and a 14-2 conference record.

UCM is currently on a four game winning streak, having swept Fort Hays State in a three-game series this past weekend. Their only losses in the MIAA have come against Washburn and Central Oklahoma.

Top hitter, Brennan van Breusegen, is nearly batting .500, already having forty-two hits and eight home runs this season.

The Mules also have six batters averaging over .350 this season.

The Series (All Time)
The Jets have never beaten the Mules since joining the MIAA. Central Missouri has won all twelve meetings since the 2020 season. The Mules run ruled Newman in two of the three games that were played in Warrensburg last season.

The Tuesday Midweek
It will be another week without a midweek game, as the Jets will be off for the second Tuesday this month.

What's Next?
A second straight weekend home series will follow after this week, with the Jets hosting Washburn in the penultimate MIAA home series this year.
