BETHANY, Okla. -Newman dropped the last non-conference game of the season to a strong Southern Nazarene offense on Saturday evening. Two second half goals made it hard for the Jets to comeback. After a very close and competitive first half, SNU took the win with a 3-0 final score.
How It Happened:
- The first half started with a shot on goal from Allison Hernandez that was saved by the Southern Nazarene goalkeeper.
- With 12:40 left on the first half, Carla Apodaca kept the Jets in the game with an extraordinary save after a tough shot from an SNU player.
- Following that save, the Crimson Storm were able to get on the board off of a corner kick.
- The Jets didn't back down and were able to get another shot on goal, but it was saved by the keeper once again.
- SNU missed a penalty kick five minutes before the end of the first half with a wide shot to the right of the goal.
- Early in the second half, the Crimson Storm scored the second goal of the game in their second shot of the half.
- Ten minutes later, SNU was able to get past Apodaca to score the third and last goal of the game.
- The Crimson Storm out shot the Jets 25-4.

The Jets put an end to their non-conference games and will travel to Emporia on Friday, September 27th for their first MIAA matchup.
