Liberty, Mo- The Jets traveled to William Jewell to start their 2024 campaign on Thursday. The Cardinals tallied two goals in the first half to take down the Jets, 2-0.

In the first half of action, the Jets had a few chances with three shots on goal. The Cardinals were first to strike in the 13th minute to take the lead, 1-0. In the 21st minute the Cardinals connected again to take the lead 2-0. Multiple cards throughout the first half slowed down play. A red card sent off a Cardinals player in the 32nd minute, the Jets were in a great position to score but the free kick by the Jets missed just high. Heading into halftime, the Jets trailed 2-0.

The second half was scoreless, with the Jets defense stepping up to hold the Cardinals at two goals. The offense tallied six shots in the second half with four on goal, but couldn't connect. Although the Jets won the possession battle, they could not overcome the first half deficit.

The Jets are back in action on Saturday, September 7th against Southwest Baptist at Wilkins Field at 4 PM.
