KEARNEY, Neb.- The Jets hit the road to Nebraska to face the Lopers. The Jets were able to secure a draw, 1-1.
How it Happened:
- The Jets and Lopers had an even first half, with the Jets outshooting the Lopers 6-4. UNK would draw the only corner kick chance of the half in the 19th minute. During the corner kick, the Lopers were able to draw a foul in the box that led to a penalty kick try. Anna Thornhallsdottir would convert the penalty kick to put the Lopers on the board, with a 1-0 lead. The Jets recorded two of their first half shots after the Lopers goal, but Newman could not connect in the first 45 minutes of play. The Jets would trail, 1-0 heading into the halftime break.
- Newman was quick to the equalizer in the second half.
Emma Kolbe floated a ball over the goalkeeper to find the back of the net to make the score 1-1. The Jets were able to outshoot the Lopers and earn five corner tries in the second half, but were unable to break the even score. Newman's defense also held strong in the second half, allowing just four shots and no shots on goal. Though the Jets had two shots on goal in the second half, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
