Last Time Out
The Jets are coming off a win against Ouachita Baptist and a tie against Harding last weekend. Against Ouachita Baptist, the match hopped off with a slow start, with just seven shots total through 45 minutes of play. The Jets offense earned two corner kicks in the half but couldn't connect. Yohsuke Ono led the Jets through the half with two shots. At the break, the score was 0-0. The Jets broke the tie in the 61st minute with a goal by Gregoire Henri. This gave Newman the 1-0 edge with less than 30 minutes to play. Tomas Melon was credited with the assist on the Jets goal. The Jets defense and goalkeeper, Francisco Pinochet would hold the Tigers off the board for the remainder of the game. Pinochet tallied three saves to aid the Jets defense. Newman would take the match, 1-0. 

On Saturday against the Bison, Jets outshot the Bison 4-0 with two shots on goal in the first half. The Jets first chance on goal came in the 1st minute with a shot by Gabriel Dias Juliani. The next chance on goal came in the 38th minute by Henry. Newman was unable to convert in the half, but kept the Bison at zero. At the half, the score was tied 1-1.  The Bison scored early in the second half, with the goal coming in the 46th minute. This gave the Bison the 1-0 edge. Three red cards in the second half forced the Jets to play two players down for the majority of the half. With 19 minutes to play, Yohsuke Ono had a great look at the goal but the crossbar would deflect the ball from finding the back of the net. The Jets would continue to battle, getting a few good looks at the net but still could not connect. Newman was able to find the equalizer in the 78th minute with a goal from Ono. Harding and Newman would not be able to break the tie. The Jets would draw the Bison, 1-1. 

Scouting the Jets 
The Jets are off to a 2-1-2 record in conference so far. The Jets have defeated Northeastern State and Ouachita Baptist, and tied Harding and Southern Nazarene. Through the Jets conference play, Gabriel Dias Juliani leads the offense with three goals and one assist for seven points. On the year, Dias Juliani has seven goals with three assists. Henri has totaled two goals in conference play.  Gustavo Dias Juliani leads the offense through non-conference with three assists through five games played. As a team, the Jets have a total of 22 goals on the year, 33 assists, and 49 saves. 

Behind Enemy Lines
The Tigers have been nationally ranked since week one of play. They have posted an overall record of 9-0-2 with a 5-0 GAC/MIAA record. The Tigers are coming off of two wins last week, including a 5-0 win over Harding and a 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist. As a team, Fort Hays has netted 34 goals, with 3.09 goals per game, 35 assists, and 29 saves. FHSU leads the GAC in shots, points, goals, and assists. Individually, Elias Ovelar Semeniuk leads the offense with ten goals and three assists for 23 total points. Juan Linares has added five goals with two assists. On the defensive end, Payton Roehrich leads the way with 11 games played allowing just three goals and making 27 saves with a 9-0-2 record. 

The Series
The Tigers have a 12-2 record against the Jets, with the last match up going in favor of FHSU, 3-1. The last Jets win against the Tigers was in September of 2022 where they took the 1-0 win at home. 

Next Up
Newman will head back to Wilkins to face Rogers State and Southern Nazarene next Thursday and Saturday.
