The Jets traveled to Joplin first, facing Missouri Southern to kick off their weekend MIAA slate. Against the Lions, the Jets fell 3-0. The Jets opened set one with early momentum against Missouri Southern.
Sky Miller and
Hannah Tymitz were active at the net, combining for several kills with
Madalyn Hoot running the offense efficiently.
Brooklyn Lane added a service ace and a well-timed kill to help push Newman ahead in the early going. The Jets led as late as 20–18, thanks to key contributions from
Isabella Lamb. However, Missouri Southern mounted a late comeback, stringing together kills and taking advantage of a few Newman attack errors. Despite battling hard throughout the set, the Jets fell short in set one, 25-22.  Newman came out strong in Set Two, jumping to a 7–0 lead behind the offense with kills by Miller, Tymitz, and
Nicole Soto. The Jets held the momentum early, until the Lions were able to battle back to even the score at 17. The Jets would be unable to close the set out, allowing the Lions to take set two, 25-20.  The Jets kept pace early in set three with strong swings from Miller and Tymitz, and a service ace by Hoot helped the Jets close the gap midway through. Lamb added key kills as Newman fought to stay in it. However, Missouri Southern pulled away late, capitalizing on a few Jet errors and finishing the set on a 6–1 run. Despite the effort, Newman dropped the third set 25–17, as Missouri Southern completed the sweep.
On Saturday the Jets faced No. 24 Central Missouri in a match the Jennies won 3-0. Â The Jets started the match with early energy.
Sky Miller and
Hannah Tymitz combined for several kills, while
Isabella Lamb added key swings to keep Newman competitive early. Central Missouri pulled away late, taking the opening set 25-14. Newman stayed aggressive in set two, keeping the score close early. Tymitz and Miller led at the net, while
Avery Kelley and Lamb added timely kills to keep the Jets within striking distance. The Jennies grabbed momentum late to take the set 25-12. The Jets came out strong in the third set, staying within striking distance with kills from Tymitz and Miller, and
Josie Weers adding key swings. Central Missouri pulled away late in the set, taking it 25-14 and completing the 3-0 sweep. UCM utilized 13 service aces throughout the match to keep consistent pressure on the Jets.

Hannah Tymitz lead the Jets offense with 148 kills, with Lamb recording a team high .284 hitting percentage. Â On the defensive side, the Jets are led by Lamb at the net with 40 blocks. Â

Behind Enemy Lines
The Bearcats enter the matchup on an eight-game losing streak after dropping matches to No. 4 Central Oklahoma and Arkansas-Fort Smith last week, along with a setback against MoWest on Tuesday. Offensively, Kasidy Mohwinkle leads the team with 167 kills, averaging 3.04 per set. Setter Ella Caffery has been a key playmaker with 561 assists, averaging 9.84 per set. On the defensive side, Natalie Herrington leads the team at the net with 34 total blocks through 16 games, while Karsen VanScoy anchors the back row with 227 digs.
The Griffons are riding a four-game winning streak after defeating No. 4 Central Oklahoma and Arkansas-Fort Smith last week, followed by a victory over Northwest Missouri earlier this week. On offense, Taylor Russell leads the team with 193 kills, while Trista Marx boasts the highest hitting percentage at .311, adding 137 kills of her own this season. The setting duo of Katelyn Diani-O'Day and Hayley Barsky has been instrumental in the team's success, recording 383 and 347 assists, respectively. Defensively, Emma Salker anchors the front line with a team-high 74 total blocks, and Anna Weberg leads the back row with 343 digs.
