BETHANY, Okla. - The Newman Jets traveled to Oklahoma to take on a Southern Nazarene squad that is receiving votes in this week's national rankings. The Jets, also receiving votes for the Top 25, battled the Crimson Storm to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of play.
How it Happened:
- The first half was evenly contested. The Jets took three shots, while Southern Nazarene had four. SNU managed one shot on goal, but Newman goalkeeper
Francisco Pinochet came up with the save to keep the match scoreless. Both teams earned one corner kick in the half but were unable to capitalize. Yoshuke Ono recorded two of the Jets three shots in the opening period, and the teams entered halftime locked at 0-0.
- The Jets struck first after the break. In the 61st minute,
Gabriel Dias Juliani found the back of the net to give Newman a 1-0 lead. The Jets defense held strong for much of the second half, but in the 89th minute, SNU's Junior Duran scored the equalizer, tying the match at 1-1. Neither team could break the deadlock in the final moments. The contest would end in a 1-1 draw.

- Juliani scored Newman's lone goal, his seventh of the season.
The Jets will travel to Claremore on Saturday to face No. 8 Rogers State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM.
