PITTSBURG, Kan.- Jets Cross Country traveled to Pittsburg to compete in the MIAA Championships. Women's Cross Country took a 12th place finish, with the men placing 11th.
Women's Cross Country: 12th Place
Pittsburg State would take the team title, winning by just one point over Rogers State.
Nayelly Rosales led the Jets with a solid run, placing 65th overall in 23:58.32. Rosales set the pace for Newman, finishing just under the 24-minute mark and continuing her consistent form this season. She was followed by
Britton Kelly in 84th (25:24.07) and
Laura Davis in 92nd (25:54.53).
Teressa Martinez finished 95th with a time of 26:21.38, while
Isabella Torres rounded out the scoring five in 103rd (26:54.33). Also representing the Jets were
Ilese Burroughs (27:22.99),
Lexi Wimberly (27:38.70),
Anna Lobmeyer (28:48.04),
Anna Corbett (30:09.70), and
Nickole Newingham (33:02.24), giving Newman a complete team finish. This led the Jets to a 12th place finish.

Men's Cross Country: 11th Place
Northwest Missouri would claim the team title on the men's side.
Timothy Kiprotich led the Jets with 22nd overall finish in 25:31.93. Kiprotich's effort marked a strong front-runner presence for Newman. Behind him,
Reagan Longei crossed the line in 88th place with a time of 28:07.81, followed closely by
Logan Libel in 96th at 28:29.42.
Josias Chavez Ramirez (29:24.31) and
Paul Sevart (29:29.69) rounded out the scoring five for Newman, giving the team a complete lineup on the day.
