Wrestling opens 25-26 season at the Falcon Open

PARK CITY, Kan.- Wrestling opened their 2025-26 season at the Falcon Open. Jevin Foust would secure a fourth place finish for the Jets. 

Dylan Sheler (125 lb)
Sheler drew a first round bye. He would then face Jaren Kimura in the second round and would fall short 11-8 (decision, sudden victory). In his next match, Sheler rallied to take the 10-8 win (by decision). Later, he would fall short to Kaden Spragis of Central Oklahoma to finish his day. 

Jaxson Newcomb (125 lb) 
Newcomb opened his day with three straight wins. Newcomb took his first win with an 18-3 technical fall. Then, won by fall (1:53) against Cameron Hooten. His third win was his second technical fall win on the day with a 16-1 win. Newcomb would then fall short in his next match, 8-2 and was unable to take his next match where he fell 5-3. 

Koehn Dietrich (125 lb)
Dietrich opened his day with a 7-0 win by decision over Skylar Anderson. Dietrich would then fall short in his next match, by fall (1:12). Dietrich then rallied to take the next match by fall (0:29). Dietrich would close his day with a loss by technical fall (23-6). 

Jevin Foust (133 lb): Fourth Place
Foust started his day with three victories. His first came from a major decision 13-1 which was followed by a technical fall win at 1801. His third win would be an 8-3 decision over ACU opponent Jason Ramirez. Foust would take his first loss in a heart breaking 6-5 decision loss. He would then take the win in the next match (forfeit) to keep his day rolling and secure himself fourth place. 

Kaven Bartlett (133 lb) 
Bartlett drew a first round bye. His second round would result in a sudden victory loss (1-1). The next round would end his day, falling short 6-0 (decision), to Kane Butric of NOIO. 

Lukas Hainline (133 lb)
Hainline received two first round byes. He would then fall short in his first match, falling by decision at 6-0. He rallied to take his next match by fall (0:34) over Marshal Mansfield. Hainline capped off his day with a loss by decision (sudden victory (4-1)). 

Braden Tatum (141 lb)
Tatum received a first round bye. After his bye, he would fall short in his next two matches. In his second match, he fell 4-0 to Michael Trujillo. In his third match, UCO opponent Adam Maki would take the match by major decision at 16-6. 

Colby Schreiner (149 lb)
Schreiner opened his day with a technical fall (6:28(18-3)) win over Thomas Vasquez. He then followed this with a win against Rico Robles with a major decision at 17-3. Schreiner would then fall in his next two matches to end his day. 

Trent Moses (149 lb)
Moses fell short in his first match of the day with a fall (2:39 (11-2). To Johnny Burnette of NOIO. Moses would then rally back, winning his next three matches. His first win came against Kingjames Perry with a 3-0 win. Then, Moses would take his next win by technical fall at 20-2. His third win came against UCO Jaxon Keoltzow with a fall, 2:52). In his next match, Moses fell by decision 19-13 to end his day. 

Keyson Halling (149 lb)
Halling received two byes to start his day of competition. In his first match, he took a loss by fall (2:01). Halling would then fall in his next match, by fall (3:50). 

Eli Means (157 lb) 
Means received a first round bye, and followed his bye with a decision (sudden victory) win at 6-5. Means would fall in his next match by technical fall at 17-1. He would then medically retire from his last match to end his day. 

Romiz Monaco (157 lb) 
Monaco started his day off with a bye. In his first match, he took a loss by fall (3:57). Monaco rallied in his next match to take the victory by technical fall at 15-0. He kept his momentum heading into his third match, taking the victory by technical fall at 17-0. Monaco would cap off his day with a loss by fall (3:00) to William Randolph. 

Jayden Ford (165 lb)
Ford started his day with a bye. His next two matches would result in two victories. His first win came over Zeb Fulmer with a 14-2 major decision. Then, Ford would take the next win with a fall (6:35 (10-3)). In the next round, Nicholas Pina defeated Ford with a 9-1 major decision. Ford would rally to take a victory in the next match, with a 1-0 decision over Brody Gomez. 

Chris Mapp (174 lb)
Mapp opened with a bye. He would then fall just short at 4-3. He would rally and take his next match by technical fall at 22-7 to punch his ticket to the next round. In the next round, Mapp fell just short 2-0 and medically retiring. 

Skyler Geer (174 lb)
Geer received a first round bye. Geer would go on to drop his first match of the day with a 17-3 major decision loss. Then, would fall short to Dominic Howlett (7-3) to end his day. 

Erik Tomanek (197 lb)
Tomanek opened his day with a win (forfeit). He would follow this up with a loss by fall to Jaren Jackson. To end his day, Tomanek would fall short at 5-2 by decision to Max Knard. 

Caleb Wunsch (285 lb)
Wunsch received a first round bye. Then, Wunsch would defeat Paul Sharp of Central Oklahoma with a fall (3-0(1:05)). Wunsch would follow this up with another fall against his next opponent from Grand View. Wunsch would then have to medically retire his next two matches to end his day. 

De'Leon Freeman (285 lb)
Freeman would open his day with a bye. He would then fall short in his next two matches, one by fall and one by decision, to end his day. 

Rio Gomez (285 lb)
Gomez drew a first round bye. He would follow this with a win by decision (5-1) over Chase Baker of Friends. Later, he would fall short to Koen Mattern (fall 5:45). Gomez would then fall in his next match to end his day (fall 0:53).
 
Isaiah Hill (285 lb)
Hill received a first round bye. He followed this match up with a win by decision at 16-9. Hill would then fall in his next match by decision at 11-8. Hill closed his day with a loss by fall (6:43).
