WICHITA- The Jets faced Central Missouri. Against the Jennies, the Jets fell 3-0.
How it Happened:
The Jets got off to a strong start against the Jennies. Kills by
Avery Kelley and
Sky Miller gave the Jets an early lead in the set. Central Missouri found some momentum and took the lead 13-9. Kills by
Hannah Tymitz kept the match close, but the Jennies stayed ahead. An ace by Central Missouri forced a Newman timeout. Central Missouri went on a four-point run to close the first set 25-19.
The Jennies took an early lead in the second set, going on a four-point run. A kill by Tymitz started the action for the Jets. Central Missouri maintained the lead throughout the match, forcing a Newman timeout with the score 12-5. A pair of kills by Weers late in the set was not enough to close the gap with the Jennies. Central Missouri took the second set 25-12.
The Jets started the third set off with a Tymitz kill. The Jennies would then go on an impressive six-kill run, extending their lead to 14-4. A pair of kills by Tymitz broke up the Jennies' run, giving the Jets some energy. Newman went on a five-point run late in the set, but it was not enough to catch the Jennies. The Jennies took the third set 25-15 and the match 3-0.
