WICHITA- The Jets hosted Kansas Christian for a Saturday afternoon match up. The Jets took the dominant win over KCC, 105-65.
How it Happened:

Sam Somerhalder would connect with an and-one to kick off the game. The Jets and Falcons would then play evenly, until a basket by
Brandon Wilson started a Jets offense surge. His basket was followed by a 6-0 run with three-pointers by
Trae Clayton and
Jayden Schoen. This run put the Jets on top, 18-9 with 13 minutes to play in the half. Three three-pointers by Schoen and a basket by Clayton put Newman up 31-14 with under ten minutes to play, heading into the second media break. Out of the break, the Falcons scored, but another Schoen three would keep the Jets offense rolling. A short 4-0 with baskets by
Thatcher McClure and
Cyrus Shaw put the Jets up 38-16. Later, the Jets found an 8-0 run which was led by a three-pointer by
Kobe Freeman. The Jets and Falcons would play even for the remainder of the half, allowing the Jets to keep KCC at a distance. At the halftime break, Newman led 55-26. Schoen led Newman in the half with 15 points, hitting five threes in the half. Clayton added 12 first half points, going 4-8 from the field
- After the first basket from the Falcons, the Jets went on a 7-0 run to start the second half. During the run, Wilson added three points, with Somerhalder and Freeman adding a basket apiece. This pushed the Jets to a 60-28 with just under 18 minutes to play. Three, three-pointers in two minutes helped the Jets hold their lead, taking it to 71-33. At the halfway mark, Newman had the 83-42 lead. McClure hit double-digits with 9:30 to play. Later,
Devin Walker would connect with his first points of the game with a free throw at the 7:30 mark, following it up with a layup on the Jets next score.
Syris Williams hit a three-pointer at the 5:45 mark, his first points of the contest. Williams would then hit his second three-pointer one minute later to push Newman to a 97-59 lead. A 4-0 run with two minutes remaining with baskets by Shaw and McClure helped close out the game for Newman. The Jets would take the dominant win, 105-65.
Player Notes:
- Schoen and Clayton led the Jets with 15 points a piece. Schoen went 5-6 from behind the arc, with Clayton hitting 5-9 from the field.
- McClure tallied 14 points, adding 12 rebounds to secure double-double status.
- Wilson and
Jacob Joe added 12 points apiece.
- Shaw scored ten points while securing seven boards.
