WARRENSBURG, Mo.- The Jets traveled to Warrensburg to compete in Regionals. The Jets were able to place three with Jevin Foust earning 5th place in 133 lb, Jace Fisher placing 3rd in 165 lb, and Caleb Wunsch placing 6th in 287 lb.
Dylan Sheler (125 lb)
Shelter fell in his first round to Jason Strope of McKendree at an 8-6 decision. Then in the consolation round 1, Sheler received a bye. In the second consolation round, Sheler lost by division at 8-5 against Drury opponent Bryson Humphries.Â
Jevin Foust (133 lb): 5th Place
Foust received a first round bye. In the quarterfinals, Foust lost by decision at 11-7. Then in the consolation round two, Foust received his second bye of the day. In the third round, Foust beat his opponent by decision at 4-1. In the consolation semifinals, Foust lost by major decision at 9-1. This pushed him to the fifth place match where he won by decision over Anthony Bernardo of McKendree at 4-3. Foust earned fifth place.Â
Trent Moses (141 lb)
Moses lost in the first round by fall at 4:12 to a Marvyville opponent. Then in the first round of consolation, Moses received a bye. In the second round of consolation, Moses lost by technical fall to a Kentucky Wesleyan opponent.Â
Colby Schreiner (149 lb)
Schreiner received a first round bye. In the quarterfinal, Schreiner lost by major decision at 1-2. Then in consolation round two, SChreiner won by decision at 11-8. This pushed Schreiner to the third round of consolation where he lost by sudden victory at 12-9.Â
Hunter Dietrich (157 lb)
Dietrich took his first round by fall over Cade Johnson of Kentucky Wesleyan with a fall at 3:20. In the quarterfinal, Dietrich lost by technical fall. This pushed him to round two of the consolation bracket where he received a bye. Then in the third round of consolation, Dietrich lost by major decision against James Hoskinson of McKendree.Â
Jace Fisher (165 lb): 3rd Place
Fisher won in his first round by technical fall at 18-2. In the quarterfinal he won again with a major decision at 11-2. Then, in the semifinal Fisher lost by just a one point margin at 4-3. In the consolation semifinals, Fisher won by decision over Conner Johnston of Central Missouri at 4-2. This punched his ticket to the third place match. In the third place match, Fisher won by decision at 4-1 over Will Kuster of Drury to punch his ticket to Nationals.
Skyler Geer (174 lb)
Geer received a first round bye. Then in the quarterfinal, Geer lost by major decision. This loss pushed Geer to the second round of consolation where he received a bye. Then in the third round of consolation, Geer lost by fall to Trey Sizemore of Indianapolis.Â
Chris Mapp (184 lb)
Mapp took his first round by major decision over Henry Martin of Ouachita Baptist. In the quarterfinal, Mapp lost by technical fall. This pushed Mapp to round two of the consolation bracket where he ended his day with a loss by technical fall.Â
Erik Tomanek (197 lb)Â
Tomanek lost in his first round by fall at 1:48. This loss pushed Tomanek to round one of consolation where he received a bye. In the second round of consolation, Tomanek lost by fall at 1:53.
Caleb Wunsch (285 lb): 6th Place
Wunsch received a bye in the first round. Wunsch then fell in the quarterfinal by major decision to Cale Gray of Indianapolis. This pushed Wunsch to the second round of consolation where he won by fall at 2:02. Then in the third round of consolation, Wunsch won by fall at 3:43. Then in the semifinals of the consolation bracket, Wunsch lost by decision to Judson Rowland of Central Oklahoma. This pushed Wunsch to the fifth place match where he lost by injury default. Wunsch would take 6th place.
The NCAA National Tournament will be March 14th and March 15th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
