Last Time Out
The Jets last faced NWOSU in a non-conference midweek match up on Tuesday. Brycen Schoenhofer started on the mound for Newman. Two doubles, a single and an error helped the Rangers take an early 3-0 lead. Newman answered in the bottom of the first. Eli Wohl and Hunter Brown earned walks to get two runners on base with no outs recorded. Micah Kobuszewski capitalized on the opportunity and batted in both runners with a single to center field. In the second frame, Caden Poor pitched for Newman. NWOSU scored their fourth run off of two hits and two free bases. The Jets were able to hold off the Rangers to only one run, leaving three runners on base. Louis Coca earned a walk but the Jets were not able to score him. Cole Landgraf substituted Poor on the mound in the third. The Rangers scored six runs aided by two home runs, four Jet errors and a single. In the middle of the third the score was 10-2. Only Hunter Brown was able to get on base for Newman in the bottom half of the third frame. Fran Montanez entered the game for Landgraf in the fourth. Two hits and an error increased the difference between the Rangers and the Jets to ten. Montanez struck out a batter before the end of the half inning. Blake Mitchell got on base, walking, but Newman was unsuccessful to score him. The fifth inning saw Lance Elsen pitch for Newman, a double by the Rangers and a walk by Anthony Cannavino. In the sixth inning, Lance Elsen was subbed for Mac Collins. Collins and the Jets defense held Northwestern Oklahoma State down to no hits or runs. Blake Mitchell and Nick Chasey hit singles, and then, a walk by Coca loaded the bases for the Jets, but a good defensive effort by the Rangers denied them from scoring. In the seventh and last inning, Sutton Titsworth pitched for Newman and only allowed one hit. The Jets couldn't score in the bottom half of the inning and saw the game end 12-2 in favor of the Rangers.
 
Scouting the Jets 
Trent Trammell leads the jets with a .419 batting average and has a 1.036 OPS. Trammell has 39 hits, four doubles, two home runs, 16 RBIs, and 23 runs. Blake Mitchell has a .368 batting average and a 1.096 OPS. Mitchell has 39 hits with ten doubles, six home runs, and leads the Jets with 35 RBIs. Mitchell also leads the Jets in 67 total bases. On the mound for the Jets, Gio De Graauw leads with a 4.38 ERA with two wins in eight appearances. De Graauw has pitched 37 innings and tallied 41 strikeouts. Colby Wilson leads the Jets in appearances with 13, pitching 33.2 innings and has brought in three wins on the mound. Wilson currently has a 6.95 ERA. 
 
Behind Enemy Lines
The Bronchos are currently 21-8 overall and 11-6 in conference. The Bronchos are coming off of a three game sweep over (RV) Missouri Southern last weekend. The Bronchos took game one 8-5, game two 14-12 and game three 5-0. The Bronchos also faced Northeastern State on Wednesday, taking the game 12-8. Caden Robertson added five RBIs in the game, with four hits on five at bats with four runs scored with two home runs. Caden Robertson leads the Bronchos with a .411 batting average with a 1.494 OPS. Robertson has tallied 46 hits, 48 RBIs, 14 doubles, 17 home runs, and scored 38 times. Ty Chapman has a batting average of .347 with an OPS of .996. Chapman has 35 hits, eight doubles, and 18 RBIs. On the mound for the Bronchos, Brett Pense leads with three wins in eight appearances with a 3.92 ERA. Pense has struck out 35 batters, also leading the Bronchos in that category. Chase Yarger has also brought in three wins on the mound with 17 total innings pitched, 15 strikeouts, with 11 appearances.
 
The Series
The Bronchos lead the series against the Jets with 10 wins and six losses. The last match up went in favor of UCO with a 5-3 win over the Jets last March. 
 
Next Up
The Jets return home on April 1st to close out the midweek series against MSSU. The Jets will then stay home for the weekend and host Pittsburg State starting on April 4th at 3 PM.
