CLAREMORE, Okla.- The Jets faced the Hillcats for a Sunday afternoon match up for the series finale. The Hillcats took game one by just one run at 5-4 with a walk off in the ninth inning. The Jets were able to bounce back on Saturday and were dominant in an 11-6 win. Today in the series finale, the Jets fell 17-5.
How it Happened:
- Rogers State jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with two runs on four hits. The Jets were able to escape the inning with three Hillcats left on base. In the top of the second inning,
Jack Kiser started off the inning with a single. Later, a single by
Nicolas Ely scored Kiser for the Jets first run of the day. Then, a single by
Eli Wohl scored the Jets second and third runs of the inning to take the lead at 3-2. In the bottom half of the inning, RSU retook the lead with a home run to make it 5-3. The Hillcats would go on to score three more runs in the inning to extend their lead out to 8-3. Rogers scored next in the bottom of the third inning, taking their lead out to 13-3.
- The Jets cut into the deficit in the top of the fourth inning. Two walks started off the inning. A single by Wohl pushed the Jets fourth run across the plate. Heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Hillcats had the 13-4 lead. In the bottom half of the inning, RSU kept their offense rolling. The Hillcats were able to score four runs off of one hit and one error by the Jets. The Hillcats held the 17-4 lead after the fourth inning. Though the Jets defense held the Hillcats scoreless for the fifth and sixth innings, the Jets were unable to get their bats rolling. In the top of the seventh inning, with the bases loaded the Hillcats walked Kiser to allow the Jets fifth run. This took the score to 17-5. Though the Jets had a chance to extend the game with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, the Hillcats were ablet to escape the inning. The Jets fell 15-7 in seven innings.

- Wohl led the Jets with three RBIs with two hits on two at bats.
- Ely went 2-3 with one RBI.
The Jets host SNU on Tuesday for a non-conference match up at 2 PM. Then the Jets will host Missouri Western for the weekend MIAA series.
