MARYVILLE, Mo.- The Jets faced Northwest Missouri in game two today.
How it Happened:
The Bearcats held the Jets off the board in the first inning. Northwest was able to add three runs in the bottom of the second off of four hits to take the 3-0 lead. The Jets defense would hold the Bearcats scoreless for the next few innings. In the top of the fourth, the Jets scored their first run with an RBI from
Trent Trammell. This cut the deficit to 3-1. In the fifth inning, the Jets were held scoreless. The Jets defense then held the Bearcats scoreless as well, with
Colby Wilson picking up a strikeout. The Jets offense recorded one hit in the top of the sixth, with a single by
Eli Wohl but NU couldn't bat Wohl around. The Jets held NW to just two hits in the bottom of the sixth and held them at three runs. In the bottom of the seventh, Northwest added their fourth run to make it 4-1. The Bearcats only recorded one run in the inning, but an error by the Jets defense allowed the unearned run to score. The Bearcats added their fifth run after reaching base by an error by the Jets infield which was followed by a double to make it 5-1 heading into the ninth inning. Wohl led off the top of the ninth inning with a double to right field. The Jets were unable to bat around a run, dropping the game with a final score of 5-1.

The Jets are back for game three against the Bearcats tomorrow at 1 PM.
