Last Time Out
The Jets traveled to Topeka to face the Washburn Ichabods in their last away series of the season. The series opener saw the Jets take an early lead in the top of the second frame aided by Pierson Gunnell's fourth homer of the season. Then, WU scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead and claim a final 2-8 win. Eli Wohl went 3-3 from the plate, hitting three doubles and scoring a run. The second game went down to the wire. Newman scored two runs in the top of the first and maintained that lead until Washburn scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth for a final 3-4 score. In the series finale, the Jets took the first lead for the third consecutive game. A double by Pierson Gunnell added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Finally, a triple, a double, and a wild pitch scored three runs for the Ichabods to complete a late comeback and claim the win. Wohl went 2-2 from the plate and earned three runs. Gunnell and Micah Kobuszewski added two hits each, with the first one also earning two RBIs. Gio De Graauw started on the mound for Newman and struck out, a team season-high, ten batters.  
 
Scouting the Jets 
Newman's offense is led by Trent Trammell who accumulates a .349 batting average. Trammell has posted 53 hits on 152 at bats, with two home runs, five doubles, and 21 RBIs. Blake Mitchell has a .311 batting average with 12 doubles, 50 RBIs, nine home runs, and has scored 29 times. Mitchell leads the Jets in OPS with .955. Micah Kobuszewski brings in a .333 batting average with a .933 OPS, 51 hits, 13 doubles, 36 RBIs, one triple, and three home runs. On the mound for the Jets, Gio De Graauw leads with a 4.70 ERA. De Graauw has posted three wins in 13 appearances with 67 innings pitched and 73 total strikeouts. Colby Wilson has a 7.91 ERA with 18 appearances and three wins. Wilson has also earned two saves on the season with 60.1 innings pitched and 37 strikeouts. Aleks Koppel has recorded 47 strikeouts with a 10.63 ERA. Koppel has appeared in twelve games with 53.1 innings pitched. 
 
Behind Enemy Lines
Central Missouri has an overall record of 35-10 and a 26-7 conference record. The Mules faced the Northeastern State RiverHawks last week in a three-game conference series played in Warrensburg, Missouri. They beat the RiverHawks in seven innings in both the first and the second game, but then dropped the series finale 4-6 on senior day. The Mules canceled their midweek game against Drury scheduled for Tuesday before they head to Wichita to face the Jets for their last series of the regular season. In their first game against NSU, UCM took the 5-17 win with two big scoring innings. Three Mules hit homers. Isaiah Keller went 4-5 from the plate, scored three runs and batted three in. Cole Kreisel and Jacob Steele both recorded three hits and combined for four RBIs. Then, they won the second game, 0-10. Steele leads the Mules with a .396 batting average. He has posted 74 hits, 11 doubles, ten home runs, and 51 RBIs. Vance Tobol leads UCM in RBIs with 55 total. Tobol has posted a .352 batting average, 1.155 OPS, 63 hits, 11 doubles and 16 home runs. On the mound for the Mules, Jack Scott leads with a 3.63 ERA through 13 appearances with four wins. Scott has 49 total strikeouts on the year through 57 innings pitched. Evan O'Toole has posted a 3.93 ERA with a 5-0 record. O'Toole has a total of 50.1 innings pitched with 49 strikeouts.

The Jets trail in the series against UCM with a 0-15 record. Newman was one run short from sending the game to extra innings the last time they faced each other, finishing 6-5.
