The Jets traveled to Topeka to face the Washburn Ichabods in their last away series of the season. The series opener saw the Jets take an early lead in the top of the second frame aided by
Pierson Gunnell's fourth homer of the season. Then, WU scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead and claim a final 2-8 win.
Eli Wohl went 3-3 from the plate, hitting three doubles and scoring a run. The second game went down to the wire. Newman scored two runs in the top of the first and maintained that lead until Washburn scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth for a final 3-4 score. Pierson Gunnell added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Finally, a triple, a double, and a wild pitch scored three runs for the Ichabods to complete a late comeback and claim the win. Wohl went 2-2 from the plate and earned three runs. Gunnell and

The Mules faced the Northeastern State RiverHawks last week in a three-game conference series played in Warrensburg, Missouri. They beat the RiverHawks in seven innings in both the first and the second game, but then dropped the series finale 4-6 on senior day. The Mules canceled their midweek game against Drury scheduled for Tuesday before they head to Wichita to face the Jets for their last series of the regular season. In their first game against NSU, UCM took the 5-17 win with two big scoring innings. Three Mules hit homers. Isaiah Keller went 4-5 from the plate, scored three runs and batted three in. Cole Kreisel and Jacob Steele both recorded three hits and combined for four RBIs. Then, they won the second game, 0-10. Steele leads the Mules with a .396 batting average. He has posted 74 hits, 11 doubles, ten home runs, and 51 RBIs. Vance Tobol leads UCM in RBIs with 55 total. Tobol has posted a .352 batting average, 1.155 OPS, 63 hits, 11 doubles and 16 home runs. On the mound for the Mules, Jack Scott leads with a 3.63 ERA through 13 appearances with four wins. Scott has 49 total strikeouts on the year through 57 innings pitched.
