WICHITA - Women's Soccer hosted Northwestern Oklahoma State for a non-conference match up. The Jets would fall short in this contest, falling 2-1.
How it Happened:
- The Rangers struck first with a goal in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Jets responded in the 29th minute when a cross from
Delphine Dzidzinyo Sosu found
Morgan Todd, who set up
Katherine Wilson for the equalizer. That would be the final score of the half, as the teams entered the break tied 1-1. The Rangers outshot the Jets 6-2, with both of the Jets attempts landing on target.
- The Jets and Rangers remained scoreless through the first 20 minutes of the half, but the Jets offense was active, recording three shots while holding the Rangers without an attempt. The Rangers first shot attempt of the half found the back of the net in the 71st minute to take the 2-1 lead. With five minutes remaining,
Maylani Birckbichler had a good look at the goal but her shot sailed just right. The Jets were unable to piece together an equalizer. The Rangers would take the contest, 2-1.
