WICHITA- Men's Soccer hosted the Jimmies of Jamestown for their last non-conference contest of the season. The Jets would defeat the Jimmies, 4-1.
How it Happened:
- The Jets took to the score sheet first, with a goal in the 20th minute by
Cameron Schroder.
Eduardo Dos Santos and
Daiki Okada were both credited with assists on the goal. This goal by Schroder was his first of the season. The next score came from
Gabriel Dias Juliani, who was assisted by
Bilal Olayiwola and
Gustavo Dias Juliani to give Newman the 2-0 lead in the 27th minute. To end the half,
Tomas Melon was found by Schroder and
Kei Nagakura to net the Jets third goal. At halftime, the Jets had the lead at 3-0. In the half, the Jets out shot the Jimmies 13-1.
- The next half of play was scoreless until
Gio Orozco found the back of the net, unassisted in the 80th minute. The Jimmies would catch a break with a Jets own goal to put the score at 4-1. Newman would close out the game with the 4-1 win. The Jets outshot the Jimmies, 22-7 with ten on goal. Newman had 12 corner kick tries, to the Jimmies four.

- Olayiwala was credited with his first assist of the season.
- Schroder added an assist and a goal, his first points of the season.
- Orozco scored his first points of the season with a goal.
- Melon added his first goal of the season.
The Jets open up conference play at home against Northeastern State on Saturday, September 27th at 3 PM.
