WICHITA FALLS, Texas- The Jets kicked off their 2025 season at the Midwestern State Invitational. On day one of the tournament, the Jets faced Wililam Jewell and Oklahoma Christian. The Jets took the sweep over William Jewell in game one. Game two saw the Jets fall in three sets to Oklahoma Christian.

Game One vs William Jewell
The Jets opened the 2025 season on a high note, earning a 25-21 victory over the Cardinals in a tightly contested first set. Neither team led by more than three points, but the Jets pulled ahead late, fueled by four kills each from Hannah Tymitz and Isabella Lamb. Madalyn Hoot anchored the offense with 13 assists to help seal the set.
Carrying that momentum into the second set, the Jets came out strong with a commanding 10-1 run. William Jewell answered with a four-point stretch to cut the lead to 12-7, but the Jets quickly reasserted control. A mix of Cardinal errors and kills from Avery Kelley and Tymitz extended the lead to 16-8. The Jets stayed in control and cruised to a 25-10 win. Lamb raised her hitting percentage to .500 across the first two sets.
In the third set, the Cardinals showed more fight, jumping out to a 5-2 lead. The Jets rallied to tie it at 10-10, helped by a pair of aces from Sky Miller. William Jewell responded with a run to go up 18-13, but the Jets stayed close. Back-to-back kills from Lamb and Miller cut the deficit to 18-15, and another kill by Lamb kept it tight at 19-16. Trailing 22-19, the Jets mounted one final push. Kills from Miller and Tymitz brought them within one, and another Tymitz kill tied it at 22-22. The Jets closed out the comeback with three straight points to win the set and complete the sweep.

Game Two vs Oklahoma Christian
Oklahoma Christian jumped out to an early advantage in the nightcap, taking the first set 25-17. A three-point run from the Jets cut the deficit to 20-15, but the Eagles responded with a run of their own to close out the set. Sky Miller led the Jets' offense in the opener with five kills.Â
The Jets battled in the second set, keeping the Eagles' lead within four up to the 15-point mark. A kill from Olivia Anderson-Stewart and a collective block from Anderson-Stewart and Isabella Lamb brought the score to 21-18. The teams traded points before the Eagles secured the set, 25-19. Anderson-Stewart paced the Jets' attack in the second with three kills.
In the third set, the Jets continued to fight, with a Hannah Tymitz kill tying the score at 7-7. However, the Eagles responded with a seven-point run to push their lead to 16-8, which proved too much for the Jets to overcome. Madalyn Hoot delivered an ace to bring the Jets within six, but Oklahoma Christian closed out the set and the match, 25-18.
