WICHITA FALLS, Texas- The Jets faced Midwestern State and Southeastern Oklahoma State on day two of the Midwestern State Invitational.
Game one vs Midwestern State:
The Mustangs dominated the first set, allowing the Jets just 12 points. The Jets offense recorded just six kills in the opening set, which allowed the Mustangs to take the first set, 25-13. The Jets rallied for the second set, keeping within just a few points of MSU for the entirety of the set. The Jets took the lead late in the set at 23-22 with a kill by
Sky Miller. MSU was then able to go on a three point run to take the set from the Jets. MSU would go up 2-0, after taking set three 25-23. The Jets hopped out to a 4-0 lead in the third set, with help from kills by
Avery Kelley and
Hannah Tymitz. A kill by
Nicole Soto and an error by the Mustangs allowed the Jets to take their lead to 6-1. MSU was able to close the gap to three points after a three point run. Though MSU tried to close the gap, the Jets continued to roll on with their lead. Newman would take the third set, 25-22. The Mustangs took a big lead in the fourth set, making it difficult for the Jets to rally back. MSU would close out the game with a set four win at 25-13.

Game two vs Southeastern Oklahoma:
The Storm took a dominant lead to start the first set, with an 11-4 run to start the game. The Jets were unable to close the deficit, allowing the Storm would take the first set at 25-16. The Jets tried to rally for set two, keeping the score close throughout the first 17 points. Newman would find themselves trailing 11-6. Newman was able to close the gap to just two points at 15-13 with two kills by
Isabella Lamb and an ace by
Josie Weers. Though the Jets battled back, the Storm were able to extend their lead back out to four at 17-13. Another ace from the Jets and kills by Lamb and Tymitz, closed the gap again to just one point at 17-16. The Storm would find a late rally to close out the set with a 25-18 win. Set three was a battle for the Jets, keeping the score close throughout te entirety of the set. With the set tied at 23 all, the Jets took a timeout to regroup. After that timeout, Newman would score two in a row with a kill from Kelley and an ace by Tymitz to close the game out with a 25-23 win. The fourth set was a back and forth battle, just like set three was. The Jets battled, but in the end Southeastern would rally two points in a row to end the set with a 25-22 final score.

Southeastern Oklahoma would take the match, 3-1.
