Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball lose match-up against UCM

WICHITA- Men's Basketball was defeated by UCM at home. The Mules took the match up 96-57. 

How it Happened:  
- The Jets kicked off the game with a lay-up by Sam Somerhalder and a three-pointer by Thatcher McClure. Cyrus Shaw and Syris Williams would both add three-pointers, along with four more points by Somerhalder, to take the lead to 18-15, going into a time-out. Jacob Joe added a three-pointer to take the tally to four Jets with three-pointers, extending the lead to 21-15. UCM fought back, making the next five of seven shots taken to take the lead 25-21. Kobe Freeman was the fifth Jet to sink a three-pointer, bringing the Jets back within one point. UCM would go on to make eight unanswered points to take their lead to 33-24. At the end of the half, UCM led 38-29. Shaw led the team with nine points, and both Shaw and McClure had four rebounds. 
– UCM would score first in the second half, scoring six unanswered points. Joe would add a three-pointer, Shaw a jumper, and McClure two free throws. With four made three-pointers, the Mules continued to extend their lead to 71-43. Will Farrington became the sixth Jet with a three-pointer. The Jets were unable to hold back a strong shooting UCM, who took the game 96-57.  

Player Notes: 
- Shaw led the team with 18 points, shooting two for two from behind the three-point line. He also had six rebounds. 
- Somerhalder had 12 points, with five rebounds 
- McClure tallied 7 points, going four from four at the free throw line. He also tallied six rebounds. 

The Jets will be back in action Saturday, against Washburn at home.
