HOT SPRINGS, Ark.- The Jets traveled to Arkansas to face Ouachita Baptist. Against the Tigers, the Jets fell 27-18.
Jaxson Newcomb put the Jets on the board first with a major decision win (11-0) at 125 lb. The Jets were open in 133, allowing OBU to pick up six points for the 6-4 lead. The Tigers would then take the 141 lb and 149 lb matches, taking the 14-4 lead. Elijah Means grabbed six points at 157 lb for the Jets (Inj. 3:25). Jayden Ford would defeat his opponent in 165 lb by decision (5-3) for three points. This put the score at 14-13, in favor of the Tigers. OBU would then take the 174 lb match by technical fall for five points, pushing their lead to 19-13. Chris Mapp picked up a win in 184 lb by technical fall (21-6), to give the Jets five points. Mapp's win closed the gap to 19-18, OBU with the one point lead. The Tigers would fight back with a win in 197 lb by major decision, pushing their lead out to 23-18 with one match remaining. In the final match of the night at 285 lb, the Tigers would take the win by major decision win for four points. The Jets would fall short in the team match, 27-18.Â
