Five Jets place at the Jet Open

Ford and Geer both place second

WICHITA- Wrestling hosted the Jet Open, with a total of 12 teams. Jets placed sixth out of 12 teams, with five individual placers including: Jaxson Newcomb (3rd Place), Bryce Kegley (4th Place), Skyler Geer (2nd Place), De'Leon Freeman (4th Place), and Jayden Ford (2nd Place). 

Dylan Sheler (125 lb) 
Sheler would drop his first match of the day by fall (5:48) to UCO opponent, Aden Sanders. In his next match, Sheler would dominate for the win by technical fall at 16-0. In his third match, Sheler would take a loss by fall (4:46) to end his day. 

Koehn Dietrich (125 lb) 
Dietrich defeated Malicai Brown in his first match of the day, taking the win by fall (0:34, 3-0). Dietrich would take his momentum into his second match, defeating his opponent by decision, 11-7. This would punch Dietrich's ticket to the quarterfinals of 125 lb. Dietrich would take on Jabyn Kemble of Western Colorado where he would fall short, taking a loss by decision at 3-0. Dietrich would end his day with a loss by fall (1:29). 

Jaxson Newcomb (125 lb) - 3rd Place 
Newcomb received a first round bye. In his second match, he took the win by major decision at 16-4. This win punched his ticket to the semifinals of 125 lb. In the semifinals, Newcomb dropped the match to Zane Donley of Pratt CC by technical fall 21-4. This pushed Newcomb to the consolation semifinals. Newcomb would defeat his opponent in the consolation semis by fall (4:22, 18-4). This clinched Newcomb's spot in the third place match. Newcomb defeated Jabyn Kembler of WCU  by technical fall to take third place. 

Alexander Rodriguez (141 lb) 
Rodriguez started his day against Adam Maki of Central Oklahoma. Rodriguez would drop the match by major decision (16-4). Rodriguez would go on to win his next two matches by major decision 12-2 and one by fall (8:41). Rodriguez ended his day with a loss by major decision, 12-4. 

Kaven Bartlett (141 lb) 
Bartlett took a loss in his opening round to UCO's Canon Acklin by fall (1:42, 3-0). Bartlett would rally for his second match, winning by decision (8-5) over Jameal Agnew of Pratt CC. In his third match, Bartlett would drop the match by major decision 15-4. 

Bryce Kegley (149 lb) - 4th Place
Kegley won his opening match by fall (1:26, 3-0). In his second match, Kegley was defeated by fall (3:29, 10-9). Kegley rallied in his third match to take the win by fall (2:59, 13-6) over Scotty Engle of Colby Community College. Kegley would win his third match of the day over Cowley opponent, Ryker Agee by forfeit. With this win, Kegley clinched a spot in the consolation semifinals. Kegley would medically retire before his last match of the day, taking fourth place in 149 lb. 

Colby Schreiner (149 lb) 
Schreiner would earn a first round bye to kick off his day. Then, Schreiner would fall short to Kasen Miller by fall (5:39, 5-5). 

Romiz Monaco (157 lb) 
Monaco would drop his first match of the day by technical fall (4:24, 17-1) to Cale Hein of Ottawa. Monaco would end his day dropping his second match to Liam Coultis of Friends by fall (2:22, 5-0). 

Skyler Geer (174 lb) - 2nd Place 
Geer battled Spencer Rochelle of Ottawa in his opening match, taking the win by decision at 15-9. Geer would wrestle next in the quarterfinals of 174 lb. In the quarterfinals, Geer defeated his opponent by technical fall 16-1 to punch his ticket to the semifinals of 174 lb. Geer stayed undefeated on the day after defeating Gunner Owens of Colby CC by fall (1:40). This would allow Geer to clinch a spot in the first place match. In the first place match, Geer would fall to Tucker Waitman of Central Oklahoma by major decision. Geer would snag second place. 

Chris Mapp (184 lb) 
Mapp dropped his first match by fall (6:26). He would then defeat his next opponent by fall (3:31). In his third match, Mapp dominated his opponent from Ottawa, taking the match by major decision at 14-4. Mapp ended his tournament with a loss by fall (3:08).
 
Jayden Ford (165 lb)- 2nd Place
Ford would start his day with a dominant win, defeating Dillon Griffon of WCU by fall (4:41, 9-0). Ford would gain another win by fall in his second match at 1:24 over Zachary Wessley of Pratt CC. This would punch his ticket to the semifinals. Ford defeated Tony Stewart of Northeast Oklahoma by decision 7-1. With this win, Ford earned a spot in the first place match. Ford would take second place, after dropping the first place match by fall (0:56). 

Erik Tomanek (197 lb) 
Tomanek opened his day with a loss by fall (0:49) to UCO's Jackson Blackburn. Tomanek would rally in his next match, defeating his opponent by fall (4:08, 14-5). Later, Tomanek would drop his third match to Jaron Alf of Ottawa by fall (2:02). 

De'Leon Freeman (285 lb) - 4th Place
Freeman dominated his first match, winning by major decision at 13-0. He would then drop a closely contested match to Steven Elwell of Ottawa, 7-6. In his third match of the day, Freeman defeated his opponent 11-6 for the win by decision. Freeman defeated Robert Tatum of Colby CC by fall 4:57 to clinch a spot in the consolation semifinals. With a win by decision (6-5), Freeman would earn a trip to the third place match. In the third place match, Freeman fell to Jude Beers of Northeast Oklahoma by major decision. Freeman would take fourth place.
