KEARNEY, Neb.- Men's Basketball took on Nebraska Kearney in a matchup that saw the Lopers get the best of the Jets, 86–67.
How it Happened:

Sam Somerhalder opened the game by attacking the paint for a layup to give the Jets their first lead. After a layup from
Thatcher McClure, the Lopers responded with 18 unanswered points to build a 20–4 advantage before
Cyrus Shaw knocked down a free throw. A three from
Jacob Joe and a bucket by
Aime Rutayisire pulled the Jets within seven and forced a UNK timeout. Out of the break, both teams continued to trade scores before back-to-back threes from Joe brought Newman within two. The teams exchanged baskets the rest of the half, but the Jets couldn't get any closer as UNK took a 40–33 lead into halftime.
- McClure opened the second half with a three, pulling the Jets within four. Like the first half, the teams traded buckets early, and Shaw cut the deficit to three with a layup. UNK answered with another 16–0 run to create separation before
Jacob Joe stopped the drought with a three of his own. Rutayisire and McClure helped trim the margin to 12, but the Jets couldn't get any closer. The teams continued to trade baskets down the stretch, with Joe knocking down his fifth three to finish with 15 points. The Lopers closed out the Thursday night matchup with an 86–67 win.
