Last Time Out:
The Jets opened conference play hosting Washburn in a three game series (4-6, 6-15, 10-9). The Ichabods would take the first two games and the Jets would secure their first conference win of the season in the third game. 

In game one the Jets would score first. Nicolas Ely singled, advanced on a bunt and stolen base, then would score a wild pitch. The Jets held Washburn to one hit through three innings before the Ichabods scored twice in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. Anthony Cannavinio answered with an RBI single to tie it 2-2, but Washburn added two more runs in the fifth to go up 4-2. The Jets chipped away late, scoring on a wild pitch in the seventh to make it 4-3, then tying the game 4-4 in the eighth when Cannavinio drove in Collin Morris, who had doubled. However, Washburn plated two unearned runs in the ninth and held on for the 6-4 win.

In game two Washburn jumped out early with a two-run homer in the first and added two more in the third to lead 4-0. The Ichabods extended it to 7-0 in the fourth before the Jets answered with a four-run inning, highlighted by RBI hits from Riley Kujawa, Thomas Munn, and Nicolas Ely to cut it to 7-4. Washburn responded with five runs in the sixth to take control at 12-4. The Jets added single runs in the sixth and seventh, but the Ichabods added three more in the ninth to secure the 15-6 win.

Washburn scored three in the first and added a two-run homer in the second to take a 5-2 lead. The Jets answered with two runs in the first on a hit-by-pitch and wild pitch, then cut it to 5-4 in the third on a two-RBI single by Kayden Dawson. The Ichabods built their lead to 9-4 through six innings. The Jets rallied in the seventh, scoring four runs to pull within one at 9-8. In the eighth, Zac Becker delivered a two-RBI single to give the Jets their first lead at 10-9. Kellen Curtis helped turn a key double play in the ninth, and Maximus Moreno struck out the final batter to seal the 10-9 comeback win.
Scouting the Jets

Anthony Cannavino leads the Jets with a .371 batting average. Nicolas Ely has scored eleven runs for the Jets, while leading the team in hits with 16. Kaynan Kaku has averaged a .311 batting average with 14 hits and leads the team with 9 RBIs. Justin Birch is second in RBIs with seven. On the mound, Frank Fabian leads the Jets with 20.0 innings pitched, tallying a 1-1 record. Alex Gillig has pitched 17.2 innings for the Jets recording eleven strikeouts. Ryan Pacha records eleven strikeouts through 14.2 innings pitched. 

Behind Enemy Lines:
Pittsburg State is currently undefeated and ranked with a record of 13-0. Pittsburg State held the No.4 spot in last week's rankings. Their last series was against Missouri Western where they took each game (8-2, 7-2, 4-3). Individually, Eric Bacon leads the Gorillas with a strong batting average of .509. Bacon also records 28 hits and 25 RBIs. Dagen Brewer is another key player for the Gorillas with a batting average of .478 and leads the team in RBIs with 29 and has recorded seven doubles. Zach Voss has pitched 18.0 innings for Pittsburg State and has a record of 4-0. Bradyn McClure and Preston Giltner have also been key aspects on the mound and both have a 2-0 record. 

Central Missouri is coming off of a series win against Northeastern State where the Jennies took all three games (10-4, 6-3, 17-4). The Jennies are ranked with a record of 11-2. In the previous National Poll, Central Missouri came in ranked sixth. Cole Funkhouser leads the team with a batting average of .467 while recording 16 runs. Grant Hollister has a batting average of .444 and leads the team in hits with 24,eleven doubles, 17 runs, and 15 RBIs. On the mound, Greyson Chappel leads the team in innings pitched with 14.0. Gavin Williams has a 3-0 record while pitching 8.0 innings. Crawford, Wyrick, and Willson all have a 2-0 record for the Jennies. 

The Series:
-The Jets have a 7-14 record against the Gorillas. The last win for the Jets was in April of 2023. 

-Newman and Central Missouri have met 18 times with Central Missouri taking each meeting. 

Next up:
The Jets will continue on the road in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a series against Northeastern State beginning on March 6th.
