WARRENSBURG, Mo.- The Jets wrapped up the series with a doubleheader against the ranked Mules.
Game One: NU 0, UCM 11
- The Mules were first to the board, scoring four runs in the opening inning to take an early 4-0 lead. The Jets defense, behind
Alex Gillig, held the Mules off the board in the second and third inning. The Jets offense was unable to get rolling to close the deficit. In the fourth inning, two more runs were added by the Mules. The Jets defense held off the Mules in the fifth inning, but couldn't get the bats rolling on the offensive side of things. Through the sixth the Mules added one and would later add four runs in the bottom of the seventh to end the game. UCM took game one of the doubleheader, 11-0.
Game Two: NU 0, UCM 10
- A blank inning for both the Mules and Jets started off game two of the doubleheader. The first run would come from the Mules in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead. The next three innings, the Jets were held scoreless while the Mules tacked on one in the third, five in the fourth, and two in the fifth to take a 9-0 lead. The Jets were able to hold off the Mules in the sixth, but still could not get the bats rolling. The Mules would add one more run in the bottom of the seventh to end the game. The Jets fell in game three of the series, 10-0.
The Jets are back in action next weekend at Northeastern State. The Jets and Riverhawks begin their three game series on March 6th at 2 PM.
