WICHITA- Men's Basketball hosted Missouri Southern to kick off the weekend of MIAA play. Newman fell short, 93-75.
How it Happened:
- The Lions hopped out to a 5-0 lead.
Jordan Glenn-Hawkins scored the first Jets basket to cut this early surge.
Thatcher McClure would then add an and-one to tie the game up at 5-5. The Jets and Lions stayed even until another 4-0 run by MSSU to take the 17-11 lead with 12 to play. A basket by Deacon Courtney cut this surge, but MSSU responded with an 8-0 run to extend their lead to 25-13 with under ten to go in the first half. A basket by Terell Wright made the difference ten points with 9:30 to go.
Jacob Joe added his first bucket to pull the Jets back within eight. However, the Lions answered with a 9-0 run to extend their lead out to 34-17. Around the four minute mark, the Lions would start another offensive surge, taking their lead to 41-20. At the end of the half, the Lions led 50-26. Wright led the Jets offense in the half with eight. As a team, the Jets went 0-11 from behind the arc, to the Lions 6-12 from behind the arc.

Cyrus Shaw scored the Jets first four points of the half. Starting at the 16 minute mark of the half, the Jets put together an 11-0 run to close the gap to 62-44. During this run, Shaw scored five,
Sam Somerhalder scored three, and Glenn-Hawkins scored three. Glenn-Hawkins would then hit two more threes to make the score 66-50 with 13 minutes to play. At the under ten media mark, the Lions held the 78-55 lead. For the remainder of the half, the Jets were unable to close the gap with the gap staying around the twenty point mark. The Jets would fall, 93-75.

- Shaw led with 18 points, going 7-10 from the floor.
- Somerhalder tallied a double-double with 12 boards and 17 points.
- Glenn-Hawkins ended the night with 15 points.
- Wright added 11 points.
