PITTSBURG, Kan.- The Jets hit the road to face No. 1 ranked Pittsburg State. This was the second game of the midweek series of the season. The first match up went in favor of PSU. The Gorillas took game two over the Jets, 21-4.
How it Happened:
- The Jets kicked off scoring in the top of the first inning.
Collin Morris was the first base runner for the Jets, earning a walk.
Kaynan Kaku followed this up with a hit by pitch. A throwing error would place
Peyton Mitchell at first, loading the bases. The first run would be pushed across the plate by a sacrifice fly from
Brett Kocher. Following this score,
Justin Birch connected with a home run to score three. After the top of the first, the Jets held the 4-0 lead. The Gorillas were able to tie the game up at 4-4 after the bottom of the first, with two hits that scored the four runs. Both the Jets and Gorillas were held scoreless in the second. The Gorillas broke the tie in the bottom of the third inning after holding the Jets scoreless in the top of the third. The Gorillas scored nine runs in the third off of four hits. This gave PSU the 13-4 lead.
- Three more runs were added in the bottom of the fourth by the Gorillas, extending their lead to 16-4. The Jets were unable to respond in the fifth, staying at four runs. In the bottom of the fifth there were four runs added to the Gorillas lead to make it 20-4. The Gorillas later added one run in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead out to 21-4. The Jets were unable to cut into the deficit, ending the game in seven innings with a final score of 21-4.

- Birch was credited with three RBIs with a home run.
- Kocher recorded an RBI for the Jets.
