WICHITA- The Jets hosted UAFS for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader to wrap up the series. UAFS took game one, 12-1, and game two 14-9.
Game One: NU 1, UAFS 12
- UAFS took an early lead with three runs scored in the top of the first. A double led off the inning for the Lions, followed by a hit by pitch to put runners on first and second. A single, followed by a Jets error allowed three runs to score with just one earned run in the inning. After one completed, the Jets trailed 3-0. This lead was extended in the top of the second inning. With bases loaded, a triple from the Lions cleared the bases to score three. Following this, a sacrifice fly pushed the Lions seventh run across the plate. The Jets were unable to respond in the bottom half of the second. After two complete, the Jets trailed 7-0. Neither team were able to get the offense going in the third inning, leaving the score at 7-0 after three complete.Â
- Two more runs were added by the Lions in the top of the fourth with two hits to push those two runs across. This extended their lead to 8-0. A one run inning by the Lions in the top of the fifth would make it 10-0. The Jets would score their first run in the bottom of the inning. Justin Birch doubled to lead off the inning. Thomas Munn followed this with a single that scored Birch, cutting the deficit to 10-1. Two hits and an error by the Jets defense allowed UAFS to tack on two runs in the top of the sixth, extending their lead to 12-1. The Jets were unable to extend the game in the seventh inning. The Jets would fall in seven innings, 12-1.Â

Game Two: NU 9, UAFS 14
- The Jets, behind Yeffry Correa Martinez on the mound, held the Lions scoreless in the opening half inning. The Jets were able to add two in the bottom of the first, off two hits and an error by the Lions. In the inning, Kaynan Kaku and Carter Andreozzi both connected with hits. After one complete, the Jets led 2-0. UAFS cut into the deficit with a solo home run in the top of the second, making the score 2-1 still in favor of NU. Newman extended their lead in the bottom of the second, two hits by pitch put base runners on. An RBI by Anthony Cannavino scored the Jets' third run. After two, Newman held the 3-1 lead. Â UAFS added one run in the top of the third inning to cut the Jets lead to 3-2. The Jets responded with a two-run inning in the bottom of the third. Beau Dalian started off the inning with a single, where he would later steal second. Andreozzi then drew a walk with a wild pitch that put runners at second and third. Kayden Dawson would push one run across with an infield RBI. Jackson Witt followed this up with another infield RBI. After three, the Jets led 5-2.Â
- In the top of the fourth, the Lions would score their third run of the game via back-to-back singles, followed by back-to-back walks. The Lions would continue their scoring run in the bottom of the sixth, with one run off a single followed by two stolen bases and another single, and two more runs being plated off of a home run. The top of the sixth would bring in another run for the Jets, tying the ball game at six apiece. Riley Kujawa walked and stole a base, advancing to third on a Collin Morris ground-out. Cannavino singled to score Kujawa.Â
- The Lions would take the lead for the first time in the top of the eighth. Two singles and a sacrifice fly would score two more for the Lions. In the top of the ninth, UAFS would stretch their lead to eight runs off of four hits and three walks. The score would sit at 14-6. The bottom of the ninth would start with a lead-off single to Cannavino, Kaku would then get hit by a pitch, which was followed by a Dawson home run, taking the score to 14-9. Witt would also get hit by a pitch, but a diving catch by the Lions'Â left fielder would end the game. Â
