DALLAS, Texas- The Newman University Men's Bowling team traveled to Dallas this weekend to try to qualify for the 2026 ITC National Championship to be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 13-18.
The sectional qualifier was held in Dallas, where 20 of the best teams would compete to find out which 4 teams would advance to the national finals. The Jets would be consistent for the entire weekend starting in 4th place after the first 16 games. The Jets would end up in 3rd after day one averaging 205.1 for the day.
The Jets would continue just how they started on day two averaging 208 in games 33-48, moving them into 2nd place with 16 to go. The Jets would again continue with the impressive workman like performance averaging 206.6 for the last 16 games to finish in 2nd place and earn a trip to National Championship in Green Bay. This is the 2nd trip to ITC Nationals in a row and the 9th appearance in program history.
In the ISC championship qualifying that was held on Friday the 13th, Freshman
Daryus Alo had a tremendous day leading the field of 195 competitors to qualify for the national finals, also to be held April 13 -18. Alo averaged 232.1for the 6 games.
