Jets Baseball Falls by One Run to NSU in Ten Innings

TAHLEQUAH, OK- The Jets fall to Northeastern State in ten innings, 10-11. 
 
How it Happened:  
- The first run of the game would go to the Jets, in the top of the first. Collin Morris and Kaynan Kaku would both single, with Morris scoring from third off a pitch where Kaku stole second. The RiverHawks would fight back in the bottom of the first, plating four runs off a home run over the left field fence.  

-  In the bottom of the third, Morris and Kaku would team up again to score the Jets' second run of the game. Peyton Mitchell would then single to score Kaku to take the score to 3-4. 

- The top of the sixth would prove pivotal for the Jets, with the Jets plating six runs. Three straight hits to Louis Coca, Brett Kocher, and Nicolas Ely would bring a run to tie the game 4-4. Morris would walk to load the bases, and a wild pitch would score the fifth Jet run. Kaku would secure his fourth hit on the day, a home run that would put the Jets up 8-4. Anthony Cannavino singled, followed by Mitchell being walked, and Justin Birch was hit by a pitch, bringing Coca back up to the plate. Coca would double, scoring two more runs for the Jets, bringing the score to 10-4. 

- In the bottom of the sixth, the RiverHawks would get a run back off of a home run, and another home run in the bottom of the seventh to take the score to 10-6. A three RBI double, and an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth would tie the game 10-10.  

- The tenth inning would go in favor of the RiverHawks. With the Jets unable to score in the top of the tenth, NSU would score a run to take the game 10-11. 
 
Player Notes: 
- Kaku led the Jets, going 4-6 with two singles, a double, and a home run. He scored two runs, had four RBIs, and stole two bases. 
- Morris had three hits on the day, scoring three runs and earning a walk.  
- Mitchell led the team with three walks on the day, had two hits, a stolen base, and scored a run. 
- Kocher had three hits, scored one run, and earned a walk.   
- Ryan Pacha threw 75 pitches through 5.1 innings of work, giving up two earned runs, whilst striking out four batters. 


The Jets are back in action tomorrow for the last game of their series against Northeastern State.
