BOLIVAR, Mo. — Newman University secured a commanding 13-3 victory over Southwest Baptist University at Dodson Field on Friday. Newman collected 14 hits, including four doubles and a home run, to dominate the game.
How it Happened:
- Newman secured a decisive 13-3 victory over SBU, showcasing a strong offensive performance. In the second inning,
Riley Kujawa doubled to center field, bringing
Thomas Munn home.
Justin Birch followed with a two-run homer to left center, giving Newman a 3-0 lead. The Bearcats responded with an RBI double, ending the inning 3-1 in favor of Newman.
- In the fourth inning, the Jets extended their lead with four runs.
Nicolas Ely walked with the bases loaded, sending Munn across the plate.
Collin Morris followed with another bases-loaded walk, allowing Kujawa to score.
Kaynan Kaku then singled through the left side, driving in Ely and Birch. The inning concluded with Newman ahead 7-1.
