WICHITA, Kan. — The Jets drew against Southwest Baptist on Saturday at Stryker Sports Complex with a final score of 1-1. The Jets scored in the second half, but the Bearcats equalized to secure the tie.

The first period began with both teams establishing their presence on the field. SBU was quick to apply pressure, earning two corner kicks within the first three minutes. Newman's defense remained solid, with goalkeeper
Emma Lintecum making two crucial saves at the 18:04 and 25:19 marks to keep the game scoreless. Newman had an opportunity to shift momentum with a shot from
Izzy Sandoval in the 26th minute, but it was saved by Cece Alexander. The period concluded with neither team able to find the back of the net, leaving the match tied at 0-0.
The Jets took the lead in the 75th minute when
Aleksah Moreno notched a goal. The Bearcats responded swiftly, equalizing in the 76th minute with a goal by Addi Shuler. McCulloch made two crucial saves for Newman, denying Juana Fernandez Calvo's attempts in the 70th and 75th minutes. Both teams exchanged fouls and corner kicks in a tense second period, but neither could secure a decisive advantage, resulting in a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation.
