WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Newman lost to Central Missouri 4-0 on Sunday. The Jets were limited to six shots and one on goal, while the Jennies finished with 25 shots and nine on frame.
How it happened:
Grace Long gave the Jets two early looks, sending shots over the top at 2:19 and 8:55, before the Jennies went ahead at 11:03 on Hannah Borgstadt's goal. Central Missouri went on the attack from 19:51 to 28:59, with
Emma Lintecum making 2 saves while several other shots missed.
Izzy Sandoval sent the Jets' next attempt over the top left at 30:23. The Jennies continued to apply pressure late in the half, creating several chances, but Lintecum kept Central Missouri off the board with another save. A foul-and-card stretch closed the half without another goal, leaving the Jets trailing 1-0 at halftime.
Hadley Lockhart scored at 46:10 to extend the Jennies' lead to 2-0, and NU later created a chance when
Iveta Stefancinova's shot at 59:00 was stopped by Kristen Wright.
Emerson Wedel denied an attempt by UCM at the 80:14 mark, and the Jets kept the margin at 2-0. NU pushed forward with a corner at 81:56 and a
Lexi Bauer shot at 82:33, but the Jennies added goals from Annabelle Slamin at 83:15 and Kylie Richardson at 86:20 to move ahead 4-0. Stefancinova had another late shot at 88:54, and Central Missouri closed out the second half with a 4-0 win.
