WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Brothers Blake and Brent Fisher each posted 3-1 marks, but the Newman wrestling team couldn't put together a win in last weekend's Central Missouri Dual Jamboree, hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.

Newman lost its opening match of the tournament to The University of Mary by the score of 33-12. Blake Fisher provided the highights for Newmen by winning the decision over Mary's Tanner Beaman 12-7. Brent Fisher provided a win by fall over Mary's Cody Schmidt. Ryan Spencer posted Newman's other winning decision, 12-9, over Collin Englehardt.

In the second round, Newman lost to Northern State University by the score of 40-6. Mitch Arnold sqeaked out a winning decision over Northern State's Beau Voegeli 9-7. Blake Fisher also pulled out a win over Jacob Butrous 11-4.

Newman faired a little bit better in round three, but would ultimately fall to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foe Chadron State College 27-13. Brent Fisher pulled out a major decision victory over CSC's Hagen Guzman by the score of 11-3, while Mitch Arnold had a winning decision over Jake Lords. Austin Workman and Tyler Hassenbank also added winning decisions for the round.

In the final round Newman fell to Wisconsin-Parkside, who entered the tournament ranked seventh nationally, 38-9. Brent Fisher did show his consistentcy by posting a 4-3 victory over UWP's Mike Migowa. Blake Fisher was awarded the winning decision over Brandon Kircher 7-4.

Although Newmen went winless in the University of Central Missouri--Dual Jamboree wrestling tournament, Brent Fisher showed flashes and consistentcy, by posting a 3-1 record in his weight class of 141.

Catch the Jets next on mats when they host the First Annual Kansas Cup, which will feature all the Kansas schools at Newman's Fugate Gymnasium. Action begins Sunday at 9 a.m.
