The Hilltoppers, meanwhile, are 5-4 this season after a 3-1 win over 17th-ranked Eastern New Mexico Sunday in Portales, N.M. St. Edward's owns a 7-2 lead in the all-time series with Newman after a 1-0 win over the Jets on Sept. 12 in Wichita.

Newman concludes the second of three trips to Texas this season with a visit to San Antonio to take on former Heartland Conference rival and 11th-ranked Incarnate Word in a 1 p.m. contest at Benson Stadium. The Cardinals are 7-1-1 this season, and have won four of their last five after a 2-1 win over West Texas A&M Sunday in Canyon, Texas. The Jets have never beaten the Cardinals, and trail 0-5-1 in the all-time series between the two teams.
