The Newman men's soccer team looks for its second win of the 2010 season Friday, traveling to Texas to take on St. Mary's and Texas A&M International. Newman will take on St. Mary's in a 3 p.m. contest on Friday, before heading further south to take on TAMIU at 1 p.m. Sunday in Laredo.

Newman continues its first rotation through the Heartland Conference with a visit to San Antonio to take on St. Mary's. The Jets are 1-2 this season after dropping a 1-0 decision to St. Edward's in their Heartland Conference opener Sunday in Wichita.
The Rattlers, meanwhile, are 1-1 this season, and have not played since their Heartland Conference opener, a 2-0 loss to Texas A&M International on Sept. 4 in San Antonio. Newman owns a slim 4-3 lead in the all-time series with St. Mary's after a 1-0 win over the Rattlers on Oct. 23 of last season.

Newman concludes the first of three trips to Texas this season with a trip to Laredo to take on the Texas A&M International Dustdevils in a 1 p.m. contest. The Dustdevils are 2-2 this season with a 2-0 win over St. Mary's, and a 4-1 win over Ouachita Baptist. TAMIU has scored seven goals this season, while allowing five.
