Buffs Stampede Past Jets, 3-1

CANYON, Texas – The Newman men's soccer team dropped to 2-5 on the season Friday after a 3-1 loss to previously-winless West Texas A&M. The Jets allowed three second half goals by the Buffaloes.

-          Newman goalkeeper Jason Dewey had one save for the match and fell to 2-4 on the season.

-          Junior Amadou Doumbia provided the Jets only shot of the match in the 21st minute resulting in a goal and a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

-          Only six shots were taken in the match, Newman had one and WTAMU five.

-          The Jets gave up three second half goals.

-          West Texas A&M held a 12-1 corner kick advantage for the match.

-          Two yellow cards were issued in the match, one going to WTAMU's Rodrigo Morino in the 85th minute while the other went to Newman's Gramke in the 89th minute.

-          Newman was called for offsides once while WTAMU had four offsides fouls.

With the loss the Jets fall to 2-5 on the season. They will travel to Portales, N.M. to take on the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds at 12 p.m..
