Box Score DALLAS – Freshman forward Luca Anelli scored two goals less than 2 minutes apart, but the Newman men's soccer team fell, 3-2, to Dallas Baptist on Saturday (Oct. 26) at Patriot Soccer Field. The Jets fell to 1-13-1 on the season and 1-6 in the Heartland Conference.
 
The host Patriots went up 1-0 less than 3 minutes into the contest. DBU scored in the third minute on a pass from the far left side with a touch in the middle that beat the NU goalkeeper Steven Hamersky.
 
Anelli then scored his two goals less than 2 minutes apart to put NU up 2-1 in the 25th minute. In the 23rd minute Anelli got a punt from Hammersky and hit a strike by the DBU goalkeeper on the right side. Hammersky picked up the assist on the goal.
 
Anelli added his second goal in the 25th minute. His shot from 10 yards found the right side of the goal for a 2-1 Jet advantage.
 
The Patriots tied the score 11 seconds before halftime. At the break, it was 2-2.
 
DBU knocked in the game-winning goal in the 47th minute. The goal was scored on a header on a corner kick.
 
The Jets are in action on Monday (Oct. 28) at Oklahoma Christian at 5 p.m.
