Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Newman men's soccer fell, 5-0, to St. Mary's on Saturday (Oct. 5) at the StMU Intramural Field in the Heartland Conference Opener for both teams. NU dropped to 0-8-1 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.
 
The Rattlers tallied two goals in the first 10 minutes of action to go up 2-0. The goals came in the 8th and 10th minutes. StMU got one more goal before halftime in the 38th minute for a 3-0 halftime advantage.
 
StMU added two more goals in the second half. In the 59th minute, the Rattlers extended the lead to 4-0, and in the 83rd minute, StMU added its final goal for the 5-0 score.
 
The Ratters' Jack Wolf scored the first four goals in the game. He finished with four goals on five shots, all of which on goal.
 
The Jets as a team totaled five shots, including four on goal.
 
The Jets continue their conference schedule on Monday (Oct. 7) at Texas A&M International at 12 p.m. in Laredo, Texas.
